You can use your Pavilion dv5000t to watch, pause, and record live TV if you select the optional ExpressCard Analog TV Tuner with Windows XP Media Center. The electronic program guide lets you find your shows and then prepare to record them from the comfort of your couch, using the remote that comes with the tuner. Once you’ve recorded a show, watch it anywhere. And for dazzling viewing with recorded TV as well as movies and photos, select the optional HP BrightView display.
Supreme performance with Intel Centrino mobile technology
The Pavilion dv5000t features Intel Core Solo and optional Core Duo processors (two cores in a single processor). The two cores enhance gaming, music, photography, and video editing, and slightly improve system performance while running multiple applications: you can watch a high-definition movie and work on demanding graphics without slowing the system. Add Centrino technology with the Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG network connection, which is also available with Bluetooth for connecting your laptop to devices such as printers and handhelds.

Intel’s Graphics Media Accelerator 950 graphics supply shared memory for your art and visuals. For sharper 3-D gaming action and other video-intensive needs, choose the optional NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 graphics card, which provides 128MB of discrete video memory.
Flexible access to photos, video, and music
The dv5000t features HP QuickPlay, which gives you one-touch access to your photo collection and starts playing your DVD or MP3 music in seconds. You can control media from up to 10′ away with the optional remote, which fits in the ExpressCard slot, and use the included software to edit and organize photos. If you select the 100GB hard drive, you get storage for up to 35,000 photos, 20,000 songs, or 52 hours of video.
Professional CD and DVD labels
If you choose the LightScribe direct-disc-labeling option with DVD±RW/R optical drive, you can put your own silkscreen-quality labels on your CDs and DVDs. You also get a recently upgraded version of LightScribe software, which labels discs 33% faster than the prior version.
